The Subgroup is consistently supported in its aims by some of our key members, namely the County Down Rural Community Network, SE Trust, Belfast & Lisburn Women’s Aid and the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council and their PCSP, who have enabled the group to:

  • Host the conference Non-Fatal Strangulation
  • Host the conference Domestic Homicide Reviews
  • Host the conference Domestic Abuse and Suicide

The group also aims to provide training and awareness on new initiatives, legislation and best practice relating to addressing domestic and sexual violence and abuse across the Partnership.

To do this, the group looks at new and emerging issues related to domestic & sexual violence and abuse. It identifies training needs and seeks ways to increase knowledge and understanding. Where necessary, the group supports joint training events and contributes to appropriate training resources.

Training & awareness-raising topics include:

  • Domestic Abuse
  • Technology-Facilitated Domestic Abuse
  • Coercive Control
  • FGM/HBA
